I was recently selected to the Faculty Appointments Committee at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) alongside distinguished colleagues from both TRU and the University of Calgary.
The law school’s founding dean is Chris Axworthy, QC. Dean Axworthy has been a Professor of Law at Dalhousie University and the University of Saskatchewan, a three-term Member of Parliament, a two-term Member of the Legislative Assembly in Saskatchewan where he served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, and Dean of Law at the University of Manitoba.
TRU Law is accepting expressions of interest from outstanding scholars and teachers for tenure track and tenured positions at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor ranks in the first year Faculty of Law curriculum.
The first year curriculum includes the following courses: Constitutional Law; Legal Perspectives; Contracts; Legislation, Administration and Policy; Property; Fundamental Legal Skills; Torts; Crime; and Dispute Resolution.
Subject to the requisite approvals, the available positions are expected to be filled by Spring 2011 and commence in July 2011.
