Golden, BC – On the heels of an incident last month at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in British Columbia whence two skiers went out-of-bounds and were lost for 10 days before a search was launched resulting in the death of Ms. Marie-Josée Fortin, two more skiers have died in an avalanche at the mountain. The skiers were in-bounds at the resort but in a permanent closure area. The deaths bring this season’s avalanche toll in Canada to 18. The average fatality rate is 14. Some are labelling those who ski in dangerous terrain as reckless and stupid.
