Double-amputee “blade runner”, Oscar Pistorius, was involved in an accident last month when he was flung from a speedboat on the Vaal River. Apparently, he was steering the boat when it hit an unidentified object. Pistorius suffered head and facial injuries and needed to be airlifted to Johannesburg hospital. Doctors at the hospital expect him to make a full recovery, and he was discharged a week later.

IOL news however report that Vanderbijlpark police are now investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving against Pistorius as a result of the accident.
